Biography

Bianca Donovan is the Military & Veterans Editor at Nimbus Loans, where she leads content for servicemembers, veterans, and military families and signs off on Military Lending Act (MLA) compliance across the site. She graduated from the United States Naval Academy and served as a United States Marine Corps officer from 2008 to 2014.

Following her service as an active-duty captain that concluded in 2014, Bianca obtained the Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC®) credential with a specialization in military finances and became a financial counselor for the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society. During a four-year period, she conducted budget analyses, assessed applications for zero-interest loans, and gave deployment-finance presentations at bases across the US, advising over 900 households of service members and their spouses.

From 2020 through 2024 Bianca served as a Military OneSource personal-financial counselor, contracted through the Department of Defense to deliver on-base and telephone counseling to active-duty, Guard, and Reserve members worldwide. She delivered hundreds of MLA briefings — including covered-borrower mechanics, the 36% MAPR cap, and the practical traps service members fall into with rent-a-bank and tribal-evasion structures.

Bianca became part of the Nimbus Loans team in 2025. Her primary review objective: ensuring every piece of content that reaches a service member or veteran is precise, beneficial, and acknowledges the distinct financial challenges of military service — and that any lender shown to a covered borrower stays within the MLA limit.
